Electoral Commission On The Mop up Registration Exercise Key Highlights

1. The Electoral Commission will conduct a Mop-Up Voter Registration Exercise from August 1-3, 2024.
2. Those eligible to register are those who turned 18 years after the Limited Voter Registration Exercise ended on 29th May 2024, as well as eligible persons who could not register during the Limited Registration Exercise in May 2024.
3. The Exercise will take place at the 268 district offices of the Commission, 26 Public Universities and 41 Prison Centres across the country.
4. The Exercise will start at 7 a.m. and end at 6 p.m. each day.
5. The Commission projects to register between Fifty Thousand (50,000) and Seventy Thousand (70,000) Voters.
6. An Applicant is required to present either the Ghana Card or Passport as forms of identification. In the absence of any of the two forms of identification, two registered voters can guarantee for an Applicant through the Guarantor System.
7. Guarantors can only guarantee for 10 Applicants. Those who guaranteed for 10 Voters during the Limited Voter Registration Exercise cannot guarantee for other Applicantsduring the Mop-Up Exercise.
8. The Mop-Up Registration Exercise will be conducted online and Registered Voters are warned not to attempt to register again.
9. The Commission has received assurances from MTN that there will be stable network during the Exercise.
10. The Commission reiterated that the PROVISIONAL number of Voters on the Voters Register is 18,681,366.Electoral Commission
