Ghana Gas Commissions Health Facility At Abakrampa

Ghana National Gas organization has commissioned the Abakrampa Children’s Ward, a health facility to provide quality healthcare for both women and children in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District of the Central Region of Ghana.

Providing health facilities is one of the priorities of Ghana National Gas organization and as such, the organization has taken it upon itself to provide befitting and quality health services for communities, especially children.

The Abakrampa Children’s Ward has been provided to ease the pressure and tension on the existing CHPS compound within the community.

Speaking to the gathered community members on Friday, the Member of Parliament for Abura Asebu Kwamankese, Elvis Morris Donkoh, expressed gratitude to Ghana Gas for the project and to the people for their patience.

“I remember when I went to Ghana Gas for a request of such project. The only thing I can say now is, the people of Abura Asebu Kwamankese are grateful for such project. This project will serve not only the Abakrampa community but also the other communities under Abakrampa,” he said.

A manager of CSR at Ghana Gas, Francis Augustin Badu, attributed the organization’s core mandate to the socio-economic development of Ghana with corporate social responsibilities found in the entire 16 regions of Ghana.

“I am very proud to have joined everyone here to commission the Abakrampa health service facility. In 2007, Ghana found oil and in that aspect, the oil found has a bi-product which is the gas.

“Ghana Gas has its footprint across all the 16 regions of Ghana and it is solely people’s request. The Member of Parliament deserves commendation since he pressed for this project to be done in Abakrampa,” he revealed.

"The greater part of the gas we process is for power generation while others are meant for heating in the industries. As part of the organization’s corporate social responsibilities, health, education, sports, water, and sanitation, livelihood empowerment and community engagement are key in the discharge of the organization’s mandate.

"The gas organization is also of the view that, in the discharging of its mandate, the organization ensures that they work with the three main pillars which includes the business development aspect, human capacity and community development."

The Paramount Chief of the Abura Asebu Kwamankese Traditional Area in the Central Region, Emintsinminim Out Xl, told the MP that "whatsoever help the community needs, he has to help immediately because the community needs it”.

“Ghana Gas, we’re grateful, for the project, we understand that the communities are many and with a strategic lobby, a project can come to a community.”
