Samuel Ayeh-Paye, former NPP Member of Parliament for Ayesuano constituency, has appealed to government to equip the factories that are not operational under its "1 District, 1 Factory".
The "1 District, 1 Factory" is one of the flagship programmes under the current administration and aimed at establishing factories across the nation in fulfilment of the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's promise to industrialize the nation.
There are however doubts and criticisms over this programme with some people arguing that the government hasn't set up any factory.
Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show, Ayeh-Paye stated categorically the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government has indeed established factories but admitted there are some which are not functioning.
He therefore called on the government to turn her attention to them.
"The truth is we have built the factories. The truth is that some of the factories are functioning while others are not operational yet. There are others that we are still building. My personal appeal to government to resource those factories which lack the raw materials", he urged.
