The spokesperson for the John Mahama Campaign, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, has stated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is not making unrealistic promises.
She emphasised that on the contrary, the NDC is being cautious with its commitments.
Mrs Mogtari mentioned that she has discussed with John Mahama the importance of engaging with the poor to understand their needs.
The Special Aide to John Mahama also pointed out issues with the current government, such as excessive expenditure and inadequate student accommodation.
Speaking on the JoyNews AM Show on Monday, she said, “Imagine that we decrease the amount of government expenditure alonehellip;over the years since Akufo-Addo has been in office, go and check huge sums of money.
Office of government machinery, mind-boggling amount. Do you know the biggest test now for students on our campuses is accommodation? There are people outside and working who pay less than the students on campus. If I show you my phone you will be amazed.
"There are still some amazing individuals in Ghana, and I think Mr Mahama is being measured."
She said that despite Dr Bawumia's campaigning, nothing has really changed and teachers and nurses are still suffering.
“The foreign exchange that he campaigned on look at where it is today. The Bank of Ghana which he continues to defend has lost 50 billion. Can you imagine how much that can invest in tertiary education for our students? If we invested that in accommodation for students, can you imagine what that would look like”?
