The Vice President and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has pledged to finance the rehabilitation of the Bole Central Mosque.
His promise is an answer to an appeal from the Bole Muslim community.
Paying a courtesy call on the Bolewura on Sunday as part of his campaign tour of the area, Dr. Bawumia was made aware of the concerns of the community which included elevating Bole to a municipal assembly, upgrading their market and renovation of the Sawla road.
A Spokesperson for the Bolewura made a passionate appeal for their mosque to also be renovated.
Dr. Bawumia therefore agreed and pledged his commitment to the cause.
“I have asked the parliamentary candidate and the Chairman to go and take a look at it and give me the estimate and I will finance the rehabilitation”, Dr. Bawumia stated.
It is however worth noting that the Bole mosque will not be the first project that the NPP flagbearer has personally taken charge of and ensured completion; he has out of his pocket contributed to lots of infrastructure developmental projects.
