Oragansied Labour has suspended their intended strike action thereby calling on all workers to resume work.
Organised Labour, on the 12th of July, 2024, called on all workers to join in an indefinite strike action starting from Monday, July 15, 2024, to back its demand for the termination of the process towards the sale of 60% of SSNIT’s shares in four hotels.
Organised Labour’s strike action was fueled by the National Pension Regulatory Authority’s notice announcement regarding the approval of the sale of four hotels belonging to SSNIT, an announcement made on the floor of Parliament by Employment and Labour Relations Minister, Ignatius Baffuor Awuah.
However, Organised Labour after a meeting on Monday, July 15, has advised all public sector workers to resume work on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 after an emergency meeting was held, adding that, they are giving SSNIT one month ultimatum to engage Organised Labour to address all exceptional issues related to the management of pensions.
“All workers are requested to resume work on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. We are giving SSNIT one month to engage Organised Labour to address all exceptional issues related to the management of our pensions otherwise we advise ourselves,” excerpts of the letter stated.
