Wrongful Use Of My Picture In The Unfortunate Death Of An Artist
Mon, 15 Jul 2024 01:00
I am Adwoa Ahenewaah. I work as a TV presenter with Ignite Media (Metro TV, Original TV, and Original FM) and own a couple of businesses. I’m based in Accra, where I have lived and worked for some time now.
It is very unfortunate that my picture has wrongfully and unjustifiably gone up in circulation on social media as the said woman in the middle of a trending story involving the unfortunate lynching of an artist. This fake news deeply disturbs me, even though it has no personal connection to me.
For the records, I state that I have never had any personal relationship with the deceased.
These malicious and unfounded allegations, made by Oheneba Akomia and NDA Media, both on TikTok are completely false. I unequivocally condemn the social media post responsible for spreading this detrimental misinformation.
Being incorrectly associated with such a horrific and sad event is hurtful and distressing. I urge everyone to refrain from sharing these false accusations and to rely on verified information.
I am taking all essential steps to protect my name and ensure the truth prevails. However, I will use this chance to express my deepest sympathy to the deceased family, as my only contact with him was on July 19, 2023, when he appeared on my show.
I commiserate with the family over this unfortunate incident. May God strengthen them in this challenging moment.
Thank you
