NAPO Is A Good Running Mate Choice For NPP Charles Owusu

Charles Owusu has hailed the New Patriotic Party for their selection and approval of Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh to partner their flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, into the December presidential polls.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh was presented before the National Council of the New Patriotic Party on Thursday, July 4, and by a unanimous decision, the Minister, affectionately called "NAPO", was accepted as the party's Running Mate.
He will reportedly be presented to the Ashanti Overlord, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on Tuesday, July 8.
“Next week, Tuesday, July 8, 2024, the NPP will perform two duties. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh is a native of the Ashanti Region, so we will present him to the Asanteman Council and Otumfuo Osei Tutu in Kumasi on Tuesday afternoon next week. Then, we will proceed to outdoor him at Jubilee Park in Kumasi.”
“Then afterwards, Dr Bawumia will hit the trail up north to commence the constituency by constituency campaign while his running mate also begins his tour around the country. So, these are busy days ahead for the NPP, and the NPP is determined to win this December election", Sammi Awuku, NLA Chief Executive Officer and a key advisor to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team, said in an interview on Citi FM.
Commenting on this development, Charles Owusu welcomed the NPP's choice of Running Mate stating "I believe that, yes, they have a good choice from their side. He's been an MP for four terms and Minister for Education and Energy respectively. I don't think an incompetent person who will be sent to Education and later handed the Energy Ministry. This means the President even has seen something distinct in Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh".
He also believed NAPO will help Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to fight his political battles as the former's rich political experience is worth noting.
To Charles Owusu, the Bawumia/NAPO team is solid, however he cautioned Dr. Opoku Prempeh to engage in self-intropection to correct the wrong impressions about him.
"I believe what they have seen in him for which reason he has been selected as Running Mate will yield fruits for their party", Mr. Owusu, a former Head of the Monitoring Unit at the Forestry Commission, said on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show.
