Worthy Choice Of A Running Mate NAPO Is The Best Education Minister Since Independence Nana B

National Organiser for the ruling New Patriotic party (NPP), Lawyer Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, has described Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the best education minister, in the annals of the country's political history.

To him, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s work ethics is matchless, and his selection as the Presidential running mate for the New Patriotic Party is a bold step taken by the flag bearer and leader of the party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Touting his credentials in an interview on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, Nana B stated that Dr Opoku Prempeh's ingenuity led to the succesful implementation of the government's flagship programme, the Free Senior High School policy.

He said, “Matthew Opoku Prempeh does not joke with his duties, and for me, I know a lot of people agree with me. Wherever you place him to serve, he does it with excellence and precision. And from independence till date, I can say that the best education minister ever is Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh. He is the best ever.”

“The controversies surrounding the Free SHS were enormous. The doubts were from all angles including the opposition NDC, who had introduced progressively free education just to throw dust in the eyes of Ghanaians. The Free SHS had become a flagship programme which requires an individual with a very strong heart to execute.”

Nana B further added that though Dr Bawumia was spoilt for choice, it was clear Napo - as Dr. Opoku Prempeh is affectionately called - would be the obvious choice.

“There were so many eligible persons whose names came up as possible running mates... but he was able to settle on the most qualified person for the job ..... The vice President had to take a strong position to make a broader consultation and consideration before deciding on Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh,” he revealed.
