Community Chairman Denies Knowledge of Abandoned Patient Found Dead in Gomoa Ojobi Bush

The Chairman of the Gomoa Ojobi Community, Apostle Robert Afraku, has stated that the community members do not recognize the patient who was found deceased in a bush at Gomoa Ojobi in the Central Region.

This statement was made in response to allegations surrounding the abandonment of a patient in the area. The incident gained significant attention on Thursday, June 13, when a video from began circulating on social media. 

The video purportedly shows a woman wrapped in sheets, left in a bush, and social media users quickly alleged that she had been dumped there by an ambulance from the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba.

In an interview with Peace FM News, Mr. Afraku emphasized that the woman is neither a member nor a visitor known to the Gomoa Ojobi community. He also mentioned that no one in the community recognizes any relatives of the deceased woman. 

According to him, the woman had an accident in the Ojobi community, which led to the assumption by Ghanaians and the hospital that she was from the same town.

He clarified that the connection is merely circumstantial, stemming from the location of the accident, and does not indicate that she was a resident of Gomoa Ojobi.

Mr. Afraku added that every community has its members who oversee and manage its affairs. He suggested that the hospital should have reported the case to the community authorities instead of abandoning the woman in the bush.
