The Women's Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), South Africa, Madam Wilbertina Buxton has released a song to support the NDC campaign for the 2024 general election.
The rationale for the song is to energise the base of the NDC party in readiness to kick out the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) from office.
In an interview on Power 97.9 FM, Monday, 3rd June, 2024, she posited that in assessing the economies of Ghana and South Africa where she is currently domiciled, it appears leadership in Ghana doesn't care about its citizens. Thus, she was compelled to use her musical talent to compose a song with the overarching dream of ensuring the NDC wins the 2024 general elections.
Madam Buxton revealed that being a gospel musician herself, she was impelled to release a song to help John Dramani Mahama, the NDC flagbearer, emphasising that, the song has been released on all NDC platforms across the world and receiving a lot of plaudits especially, NDC SA Chapter.
In dealing with the reactions of the general public in reference to a gospel singer deciding to release a political song, the SA NDC Chapter Women's Organizer averred that the song has been well received since it deals with the current obstacles of the ordinary Ghanaian and why the government must be kicked out.
She paid glowing tribute to Mr. Benjamin Quashie, the NDC SA Chapter Council of Elders Chair for being very supportive of the song and to all other persons who have contributed towards her journey thus far.
