14 Year Old Ghanaian Student Immerged World Best English Student In Global Pearson Exams | Education

One year after the introduction of Pearson curriculum in Kids At Heart International School in Accra North Legon, a 14 year old female student of the school Pinuoluwa Oke has attained the highest mark in the world in what is supposed to be a three year program.
The British and Ghanaian Curriculum Pearson Exams is written worldwide, and it has the English language test designed to assess the readiness of non-native English speakers to participate in a university-level English language instruction program.
The 14 year old Pinuoluwa Oke immersed as the World Best Pearson English Student at the lower secondary category, while two other students of the school , Aseda Owusu Basoah aged 15 years and Benjamin Danquah aged 14 years also won the Pearson IGCSE award for Chemistry and Biology in the primary category and the Highest Pearson Edexcel iLower Secondary in Science category respectively.
Pearson Edexcel iLower Secondary is a complete program for children aged 11-14 taken English , Mathematics , Science , Computing and Global Citizenship in international Schools with a strong emphasis on developing scientific inquiry skills and content designed to support inquiry-based learning.
Admonishing the gathering during the presentation of the awards to the students, The Deputy Minister of Education in charge of TVET, Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo who was the special Guest of honor tasked stakeholders in education to play their role accordingly since education is a shared responsibility which should not be left in the hands of only the teachers.
Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo explained that education requires the collective effort of government, teachers, parents and the learners themselves of which the failure of any of the actors to perform it role properly affects the learning outcome.
According to her, "even though there is free lower and secondary education, the challenge that exists in education is beyond the single effort of the teacher, parent or the learner, therefore each stakeholder must have equal interest to ensure that the learner succeeds in the end".
"I am excited that you had a new curriculum but the teachers decided to sit down and learn and familiarizing themselves with the new thing they are suppose to teach the young ones, because it is only a humble teacher who can unlearn what he or she has and still humble enough to learn new things, because when you grow up learning is tough especially when you thing you know already and still they say that go and learn a new thing but for the love of the young ones you learned and because you sincerely learned God has blessed them and the children you taught" she applauded the teachers.
"Parents guide and strict children who want to use the cell phone, the online and use them well, the pop ups some are so offensive that is not that your child wants to be there so never say it is too stressful being a child, or it is too stressful being a teacher or too stressful being a parent, we are all partners and we all have a common interest" she told the gathering.
She made the disclosure during the climax of the 10th anniversary ceremony held at Kids At Heart International School in Accra-Cantonment to award the winners of the maiden edition of the world Pearson exams.
Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo further congratulated the students and encouraged children especially the girl child to take their education serious.
Kyidomhene of Aburi Atwiasin also the CEO of Jilcon Construction Petroleum, Nana Opare Kwafo highlighted that education is the bridge to prosperity and education without knowledge in ICT in this technological era can be an impediment if even one want to set up and own his personal business .
Nana Opare Kwarfo again Commended the effort of the children for winning the awards in the various categories and tasked parents not to relent on their responsibilities in the upbringing of their wards.
The Administrator of Kids At Heart International School, Mrs. Linda Gartey was enthused with the outcome of the effort of the teachers and the students accumulating to the students success and urged parents to strengthen their collaboration with the school.
The Award winning students were however glad for winning the awards but believe hard work paid for their effort.
