The Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has described the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), under the leadership of John Mahama as a ‘scary alternative’ to be re-elected to govern the country.
Speaking on Joy News AM Show yesterday, Afenyo-Markin, who is also the Majority Leader said that raising concerns about the potential failures of a candidate does not connote detrimental motive but rather served as a reminder of past experiences.
He, therefore, cautioned the electorates to evaluate presidential candidates before casting their ballots in order to make the right decision.
“It’s significant to remind those who are going to take the decision that this man who claims that Ghanaians should give him the chance cannot do it better. For that one, we need to make that point clear. We can no longer keep quiet. It doesn’t mean that if we say so, we are saying that in bad faith.
“We are going into a competition and in that competition, it is yesterday’s failure who is the one coming up to say that, they could not perform so give me the chance. It is significant that you remind the decision-makers that the alternative is scary. The alternative is worse,” he stated.
