Professor Joseph Osafo has urged the ruling New Patriotic Party to put their house in order.
The Senior Psychologist spoke on the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Ejisu by-election which saw Kwabena Boateng, an NPP parliamentary candidate, defeat his closest contender, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi who was a leading member of the party but contested the elections as an independent candidate.
The by-election was seen as a tough competition for the NPP as Mr. Aduomi was described as a "heavyweight" contender who could topple the ruling party.
However, Kwabena Boateng polled 27,782 of the total votes cast representing 58 percent to emerge victorious while Mr. Owusu Aduomi pulled up an impressive performance by garnering 21,536 votes representing 43.24% in last Tuesday’s by-election.
Following the by-election, there are talks for the New Patriotic Party to embrace Mr. Aduomi and bring him back to their fold as they march into the December 7 elections.
But Mr. Aduomi has served notice that he won't return to the party.
Commenting on the issue during Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show, Prof. Joseph Osafo advised the NPP to stay united and also do everything in their power to bring Mr. Aduomi back, however, if he insists on remaining independent, then they should focus on themselves and work to realize their dream of breaking the eight-year governance cycle without him.
"Whether he will come or not, NPP should move on but they must work hard" towards the December polls, he stressed.Ameyaw Adu Gyamfi/
