The Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), and a Parliamentary Candidate for Akuapem North constituency, Sammi Awuku has encouraged the officials of the Electricity organization of Ghana to convey well with Ghanaians following the recent incessant power outages being experienced in various parts of the country.
Ghanaians have raised genuine concerns about the unstable power supplies that has hit various parts of the country.
"In the past few weeks, it hasn’t been easy for people, especially power outages and NPP won't pretend that all Ghanaians are happy or they are comfortable, but I can also confirm that we are not back to Dumsor era, but how we convey it is key."
Sammi Awuku added that, if the communication is not clear or does not reach the consumer in time, the consumer might presume that the Dumsor which characterised the erstwhile John Mahama government is back.
Outlining the obstacles faced by the ECG, the NLA boss said, "If the customer is sleeping in light-out, forget about the rhetorics, they will not care about the reasons, but there are reasons. The underground cables are all damaged due to the heat".
Sammi Awuku advised ECG to convey effectively to Ghanaians so that the system is not poisoned due to the lack of communication.
He said, "If you don’t convey effectively and allow people to understand where are you are, the atmosphere will be poisoned."
